Israeli Winter Fruit Cup

Ingredients:
  • 5.00 Each Moist Dried Figs
  • 8.00 Each Navel Oranges
  • 0.00 Sugar To Taste.
  • 1.00 Cup Raisins
  • 0.67 Cup Sweet Red Wine
  • 4.00 Large Bananas
  • 2.00 Each Juice Oranges
  • 0.50 Cup Chopped Walnuts

Recipe By : The Jewish Vegetarian Year Cookbook These are not excatly on the theme, so I hope it is ok to post them.I thought that they sounded interesting.These were featured in The Vegetarian Voice ,an EMail Newsletter I get from the Mining Co. http://vegetarian.miningco.com/gi/pages/mmail.htm Peel and segment the naval oranges, remove all membrane and chop coarsely. Chop figs. Combine fruits in a large bowl. Slice and add bananas. Squeeze juice from juice oranges and pour over fruit. Stir in raisins, walnuts and wine. Add sugar to taste.
